Blacksmith Fresh Coffee – forging a coffee roast pan and roasting coffee

Every morning i drink a coffee, but it is not a particularly fresh coffee. I have the forge burning everyday, so why should i not make a fresh coffee roast every morning?!

I did not have enything to roast the coffee in so i made a plan to forge a small roast pan. The frying pan design came out great and contains enough fresh coffee to make to nice fresh coffee’s. I must say only this part alone was awesome!

Meanwhile I ordered some nice fresh brazillian coffee beans. Brazil Santos unburned arabica coffee. A mild type of coffee, but i did not have any idea how to roast the coffee. This is what i did, and if i’m nog correct please comment how i should do it the next time.

Roasting recipe:
– put 50 grams unburned fresh green coffee in a pan
– first 5 minutes slowely to 120 C / 250 F
– heat the pan slow and nice to around 220 C / 425 F (arround 10C / 50F every minute)
– the total roast took 20 minutes
– cool the coffee
– grind the coffee
– brew your coffee

The end result was amazing!
